The interrail adventure begins!

Have you ever really opened your eyes and looked at the real beauty of this world? My husband and I have embarked on a 30-day physical journey to a fairly remote area north of the Arctic Circle and I know that we are going to be overwhelmed by the incredible sights and wonders we will see.

Come on a virtual journey with us as I write this blog and relearn how to fully appreciate nature and the gifts of creation. We will also share tips and insights into our journey, all the highs and the lows - warts and all! Hopefully it will help others, particularly those who are growing old disgracefully like us and it will encourage them to make similar journeys into the unknown. We will be staying in hotels for the whole month and since Scandinavian countries are more expensive than the UK, we will be looking for ways to do things on a budget for obvious reasons. This will not detract from the enjoyment of the experience at all and comfort is very important to us.

There are about 200 billion trillion stars in the universe.

Astronomers estimate there exist roughly 10,000 stars for each grain of sand on Earth

And probably more planets than stars.

“Only in the darkness can you see the stars.” — Martin Luther King Jr.

95 percent of the universe is invisible and mysterious and cannot be explained by scientists!
